XCARET – A diverse park in a natural habitat that offers a view of Mexican History and Culture as well as beach, snorkeling & underground caves. Their evening show is fantastic, and if you are there make sure you hang around for that. Basic admission is $99 USD for Adults and $49 USD for children plus abundant up$ells! If you are here in the beginning of November for Dia de los Muertos, Xcaret nighttime festivities should not be missed. Located south of Playa del Caremen – 15 minutes north of Camp Akumal.
XPLORE – M The Ideal age for Xplore would be fit and adventurous 10 to 50 year olds, although there are always exceptions to that rule. It is a non-stop action filled adventure. Everyone I know who has gone has come back enthusiastically exhausted! All Day Xplore (9 AM to 5 PM) is $119 USD for an Adult and $59 USD for a child 5 to 11 years old. Xplore at night (5:30 PM to 10:30 PM) is $99 USD for an Adult and $49 USD for a child. Includes food, equipment, zip line, river raft paddle, travel on amphibious vehicles, and swimming in the stalactite river. Located south of Playa del Carmen – 15 minutes north of Camp Akumal.
XELHA – Xel Ha is awesome! If you are going to splurge on one thing during your vacation, do this. There is a natural lagoon for snorkeling, a one of a kind lazy river, and zip lines over the water. There is even a kids area for the little ones and it is a great way to spend the day with your entire family. The park is open from 9:00 AM till 6:00 PM and all food and drink (alcoholic drinks also) are included in the admission price. The buffet is better then expected. There are up sells such as swimming with the dolphins. Adult Admission is $89 US, Children under 12 are half price and children under 5 are free. Located 10 minutes south of Camp Akumal.
VENTURA PARK – This is a newly renovated park which features a water park Wet n’ Wild. There are water slides, kids area, lazy river, amusement park rides, zip lines and games. It is a super fun family day. All food and drinks are free in the park. Located in Cancun – 1 hour north of Camp Akumal. They have various packages but I find the least expensive to be adequate as it still includes almost all the park features. At the door adults are $79 USD, Children 3 to 11 are $59 and under 3 are free. But check online because if you buy your tickets in advance, you get savings of up to 30%.
There is also a brand new park XENSES which I can’t wait to try!
